MEMPHIS—Christian Brothers University baseball coach Phil Goodwin has announced the signing of Humboldt High pitcher Joey Blankenship to a National Letter of Intent to join the Bucs next spring.
Blankenship, a 5-11 righthander, was an all-state pitcher at Humboldt, posting a 23-5 career record with a 2.12 ERA as a four-year starter. A three-time All-District player, Blankenship was also versatile in the field, starting at least one game at every defensive position except catcher. He also hit .321, earning a spot on the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association All-State Two-Way Team.
Blankenship is the Bucs' first signee of the spring.
