Visitors' Guide
Memphis is the 17th largest city in the U.S. and offers a world of opportunity and adventure for CBU students. The city is home to major corporations and research facilities such as FedEx, International Paper, AutoZone, Morgan Keegan, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and Buckman Laboratories. Wonderful internship possibilities are available with these companies, among others. The various volunteer opportunities at non-profit organizations, religious communities, and multicultural centers enrich individuals’ experiences outside the classroom.

The annual Beale Street Music Festival each May brings a long list of great shows and entertainment. The world-renowned Memphis in May also hosts its annual Barbeque Festival, which provides competition and great food. Memphis' nationally noted restaurants, as well as acres upon acres of lush, green parks have been featured repeatedly in the national media, along with the resurgence of its downtown entertainment district.

Memphis is most famous for its one-of-a-kind entertainment scene, and you don’t have to be 21 to enjoy it. There's live music and great food every night on Beale Street, and the Highland Strip has pool halls and clubs that regularly have all-ages shows. There's a season of NBA games, and the retro-styled downtown baseball stadium makes for a fantastic afternoon or evening. Memphis' malls and numerous shopping districts have made the city a regional shopping destination. The coffee houses and art galleries of the South Main historic district are always a fun experience. Whatever you're into, trust us – we've got it.
